A stylish townhouse in affluent West London, redesigned by Studio Lord for a growing family with young children who purchased the property with plans for extensive internal refurbishment.
The client’s objective was to achieve an interior layout that enhanced their contemporary family lifestyle, with a high-quality finish and an understated sense of luxury, while remaining true to the traditional vernacular of a London townhouse.
By closely understanding the client’s lifestyle and how they wanted the space to perform, Studio Lord created an enduring traditional layout, lightly enriched with contemporary touches and perfectly tailored to the needs of a modern, growing family.
The existing glass conservatory at the rear was removed and replaced with a two-storey extension. The layout was reconfigured to provide a modern way of living, incorporating a generous open-plan kitchen and dining area, a TV room, a private family room, and a formal drawing room for the parents. Additional bedroom accommodation was introduced, including a luxurious primary suite with en-suite bathroom.
Inside, the kitchen embraces a refined white palette, complemented by elegant white marble with subtle grey veining, while the drawing room features rich tones that convey warmth and intimacy. Throughout, the interior is enhanced by carefully considered contemporary lighting, adding a delicate sophistication that elevates the traditional charm of the space.
