A luxurious private villa set against the backdrop of the Middle Eastern desert, Opal House is a seamless dialogue between architecture and interior design. Studio Lord’s vision was to honour the striking architectural form while embedding a deep connection to the surrounding landscape through materiality and texture. The result is an interior that embodies a private sanctuary, with sophistication and a refined elegance.
Focusing on the primary bedroom suite - complete with a dressing room and ensuite - Studio Lord envisioned a design that echoes the textures and tones of the desert while introducing rich greens and bronze accents for elevation.
Exquisitely polished plaster walls and warm marbles with deep veining enhance the aesthetic, creating a sense of understated luxury without breaking the connection to the surrounding landscape.
Subtle curves weave through the interiors, echoing the architectural lines while introducing softness and a sense of ease. These gentle forms add comfort and a relaxed tone to the spaces, while providing subtle references to the arid landscape.
In contrast to the desert’s intense heat, the interiors adopt a cooling palette that evokes calm and serenity, offering a true refuge from the Middle Eastern elements. This tranquil approach is elevated by stone flooring and the polished plaster walls, complemented by rich, soft furnishings that complete the luxurious setting.
